PERFORMANCE TUNING
Jsport Autowerks offers Performance and Eco tunes for a number of gas-powered vehicles ranging from domestic, import and European vehicles. This includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.
DIESEL & TDI TUNING
Jsport Autowerks offers amazing and rock solid tunes for your diesel motor. If you own a diesel and need more power and torque, our technicians and tuners can fine tune your vehicle's ECU for more power!
FUEL ECONOMY (ECO) TUNING
Our tuners and technicians can fine tune your motor to get you the best fuel economy your motor is capable of. On average we see 1-5mpg increases on Gas and 5-8mpg on Diesel motors, sometimes higher!
PERFORMANCE TUNES

Not only do we work our magic with fixing vehicles but we also have the knowledge and equipment to fine tune your motor.  If you have an older vehicle, our techs would start by inspecting your vehicle to ensure it’s capable of handling a tune.  Next we pull the file from your vehicle’s ECU and send it to our tuner for modifications.  Once the new file is received, we flash it using one of several methods and then test drive and data log your vehicle to ensure there are no problems with the tune and that your vehicle does not have any error codes or warning lights when we hand it back off to you.  Our tuners also have the ability to create custom maps so give us a ring if you have a custom project on your hands and need help!

DIESEL TUNES

Turbo Diesel (TDI) tunes are our specialty!  If you have a diesel vehicle that’s missing that low end power and torque, our techs and tuners can remap your diesel motor ECU to get more horesepower and torque out of your engine.  We also have the ability add certain features such as Dynamic Idle (warm the car up faster and get better fuel economy quicker), Burble (give your exhaust that race car sound), Launch Control, and more.  Have aftermarket parts on your vehicle and need a custom tune?  Our tuners have the ability to fine tune your ECU file so it takes things like upgraded exhausts, intakes, turbos into consideration to maximize the amount of power these upgrades are capable of.

ECO TUNES

Our Eco tunes allow our tuners to modify your ECU to maximize the fuel economy your motor is capable of.  We’re seeing anywhere from 1-5mpg increases on gas-powered vehicles and 5-8mpg more on diesel motors (sometimes more!).  Our Eco Tune maps will also give you more power but not as much as our Performance Tunes; Eco Tunes are geared more towards people wanting to get the best fuel economy possible.  Our tunes will optimize the engine torque so that despite lower engine speeds, the performance of the vehicle remains the same as higher engine speeds which make your vehicle more fuel efficient.

PERFORMANCE & Fuel Economy (ECO) TUNES

Stage 1 ECU Tune:   Jsport Autowerks offers tunes in several stages starting at Stage .5 for our Eco Tunes and Stage 1 for our Performance Tunes.  Our Stage 1 tunes are more of a “bolt on” type tune that do not require any other work to the car to add more horsepower and torque.  These types of tunes are geared more towards daily driver type vehicles or for driver’s that are looking to get a bit more power than stock numbers.  Depending on the year of your vehicle, our techs will inspect it to make sure it’s capable of handling this type of tune.  If not, the techs will recommend that maintenance or proper repairs be performed first before adding a tune.  Once the vehicle has been verified as being able to accept the tune, the tuners will remove the file from your stock ECU and a new file will be added that enables your motor to offer more power.  Once the file is loaded our techs will log the data from your ECU to ensure everything is working properly, clear and check for codes, and then test drive the vehicle before we give it back to you.

STAGE 2 ECU Tune:   Jsport Autowerks offers Stage 2 tunes that are a little more aggressive than our  Stage 1 tunes.  Stage 2 tunes usually require aftermarket parts such as an intake or exhaust to enable the vehicle to accept a Stage 2 tune.  As with our Stage .5 and Stage 1 tunes, the vehicle’s reliability should be unimpaired meaning required maintenance or repairs may be needed before you can tune it.  Stage 2 is considered more of a track-style tune  since it will add more horsepower and torque than our lower stage tunes and driver’s need to be aware that service intervals may increase with these types  of tunes.  With as much power as the Stage 2 tunes adds on automatic transmissions, it might be necessary to increase torque limits which means the vehicle could require a transmission or DSG tune.  This will allow your transmission to reset it’s upper limits to allow for more horsepower and torque.  Stage 2 tunes are perfect for driver’s looking to get even more power out of their engine or for using it in a track environment.

STAGE 3 ECU Tune:   Jsport Autowerks Stage 3 tunes are referred to as competition tunes.  Stage 3 tunes are usually for track cars or vehicles not driven daily.  The amount of power that Stage 3 provides will be substantially higher than Stage .5 or Stage 1 tunes and the tunes are used to extract the maximum amount of power from the motor.  Power gains range from car to car but the increase is dramatic and will require certain aftermarket parts be installed and working properly on the vehicle before the tune will take.   Most Stage 3 tunes are for vehicles that have quite a few aftermarket parts such as upgraded turbo, intercooler, exhaust, intake, and possibly more.  These types of tunes are not usually used for daily driving so if you’re interested in Stage 3, please give us a call to discuss your project to see if it would be a good fit for your vehicle.

Custom ECU Tune:   Jsport Autowerks Custom tunes are just that, a custom tune designed specifically for your vehicle and the aftermarket parts you’ve installed.  The vast majority of tunes sold today are more of a generic, off-the-shelf type tune that do not take into consideration certain custom parts you’ve installed.  Off the shelf type tune results will vary from car to car and you may not get the same results as the next driver operating the same year, make, and model vehicle.  Custom tunes not only take into consideration the aftermarket parts you’ve installed but they can also help address common problems such as boost spike, boost creep, and under boost.   Boost Spike and Boost Creep can shorten the turbo’s life while Under Boost provide less than optimal performance and more smoke.  A Jsport Custom Tune can tune out a number of issues that can result in smoother power delivery, optimized performance, and better reliability.  However, there is a trade-off.  Custom tunes take longer and are typically more expensive since it requires data logging and repairing any mechanical defects (if found) and then we can log and fine-tune the ECU until optimal results are achieved.

ECO ECU Tune:   Jsport Autowerks offers what we call Eco Tunes which maximizes the amount of fuel economy your vehicle is capable of.  On average we see anywhere from roughly 1-3mpg on gas-powered vehicles and 8-12mpg increases on diesel.  These averages can vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on the mileage and mechanical condition.  Our Eco Tunes not only offer better fuel economy but also increase horsepower and torque slightly.  More power, more torque, and better fuel economy?  Yes!  Our Eco Tunes are known for being reliable while not putting undo stress on your vehicle’s motor and components.  Let us maximize the amount of fuel economy your motor can handle and let the tune pay for itself over time with the money you’ll save in fuel!

TRANSMISSION TUNES


BMW TRANSMISSION TUNES

Our technicians have the ability tune your BMW’s 6 or 8-speed automatic transmission to unlock the hidden potential these transmissions are capable of.  We have maps for over 120 BMW models with 6 or 8-speed automatic transmissions.  These OTS maps give your automatic BMW the feel of a manual without having to switch transmission types.

Here are some examples of the type of transmission tune we offer for BMW’s.

2009 BMW 335i xDrive
Stage 1:  The Stage 1 setup is made for the sporty, yet economy aware driver.  The setup makes use of the massive low-end torque of the 3.0 liter twin turbo engine and let’s you cruise around well below 2000 rpm in D mode.  A switch to S/M mode transforms the transmission and gives you shorter shift times + rev-matching downshifts without sacrificing comfort.  Torque limiters are raised to 442 ft.lb in every gear to accommodate the potential of tuned engines.  This setup is based on the well known Alpina configuration.

2015 BMW 435i xDrive Gran Coupe
Stage 2:  Stage 2 transmission tunes offer the 435i xDrive Gran Coupe an added gear display in D-mode.  It also removes the 3rd and 6th gear torque limits while raising the line-pressure mapping for high-input torque.  DEC Logic is reconfigured with similar logic as what is found in M-series cars which gives the driver access to more shifting modes.  The driver will also experience very fast shifting in M/Sport+ with absolutely instant paddle response.  This tune does not have automatic upshifting in M/Sport+ setting and the transmission keeps the current set mode when DSC is disabled.  Launch Control is also enable (update of DSC, DME eventually necessary as well on 2012 cars) and the vehicle will still retain the full ECO Mode functionality including coasting.

2011 BMW 135i xDrive
Stage 3:   The Stage 3 tune for the 135i raises the bar in every aspect.  In D mode, only slightly firmer than the Stage 2 tune, a switch to S or M mode will transform the way your transmission feels.  Shift times are cut to a minimum and sacrifice shift comfort in favor of pure speed.  On downshifts you will experience instant and very audible rev-matching.  The Race cal offers a true manual mode for the first time in a non-BMW M series vehicle.  Instead of forced upshift, you will hit the engine rev-limiter like in a manual car.  Torque limiters are uppoed to 737 ft.lb to leave room for advanced engine tuning. Line pressures have been increased where necessary to lift the maximum torque limits of your transmission.  If you drift your vehicle, visit race tracks, or just love being in control of your car, this is the map of choice for the 135i!

E90 BMW 335i xDrive

VW & Audi DSG TUNES

We have an array of DSG tunes for all of the Volkswagen and Audi group line from 2005 to 2014 (and some 2015+ including diesels!), and can customize the tunes in certain circumstances to accommodate your needs.

DSG features included in your tune:

  • Launch control
  • Quicker shifts in all modes
  • Lower shift points in normal mode for improved efficiency
  • A more aggressive shift pattern in sport mode
  • Automatic kick down and upshift is disabled in manual mode
  • A torque limit increase (if applicable)
  •  Firmer clutch clamping, if required
  • Adding a gear number display in instrument cluster (if applicable)
